Social n Cultural reform…

Just a thought on social reform inspired by my friend Victor Igor Wasylczenko…The good thing about social media (youtube and such) is, it dose have the information out there to see, if one wishes to look for it, but in many cases most of us are happy just going about our days and not paying to much attention as to what is taking place in our home land, and around the world other then the half hour of news we may watch before bed, and this is a choice, and one should have this as a choice, that’s what America is all about. I guess as an artist, I tend to submerge myself in observation and this is what moves me out of bed in the morning, that and the rent…The bad thing is, from my point of view is, our population is so polarized with the illusion of what “the powers that be” are conditioning us to internalize as truth through their controlled information media, that no one gets past the computer, or the TV to make an attempt to correct some of our ill in our country… (which have been with us for thousands of years),.. Read Aristotle on politics if you get the chance…”Nothing new under the sun”, as King Solomon stated…

The difference between now and the 60’s is men and woman marched in massive numbers to attempt to correct the social ills of those time, and had some very positive outcomes, now we just write on our blogs, and send around cyber partitions thinking this will be enough to initiate change, Chris Hedges, and Howard Zizz have much to say on this subject…Not to mention the government has passed into law some very interesting hurdles since “The march on wall street” to keep mass protests from happening now a days, that alone should scare the hell out of all of us … Pharmaceuticals, beer, and 500 TV chennells have trumped the American spirit to promote cultural change, and replaced it with the illusion of cyber intervention that is somewhat as useful as the tits on a boy dog, that and the wedding between the corporations and the government that took place years ago that none of us were invited to, or even knew it took place…

Great song, and video…I dont know of any other way to make changes other then people doing exactly what these people are doing in this video…Its a complexed culture we live in today, and its going to take many different components of our diverse culture coming together and just putting our foot down and placing this illusionary partisanship BS aside and start a grass rooted effort to educate people about the real history of humanity and all its attempts to create a system that is somewhat void of the “winner takes all” mentality…and insert some compassion, and humanity into the game…We do some pretty good things her in the US as citizens, charities and so on, but the big boys at the top just cant stop their parasitic propensities to own everything and everyone…

Just my take on things…Peace…

Wendell Berry…(Hero)

Over the last 10 years, I found myself intrigued with how man sees things through so many different lenses, warn by each and every one of us occupying this planet,so this curiosity brought me to writers like John Muir, Chris Hedges, Frederick Douglass, Ann Rand, and so on (Though I found objectivism to be a very cold state of things)…Then I stumbled on a philosopher Søren Kierkegaard that took me down a whole other path of observation, Faith, politics, and what he describes as “Group Think” and the danger and intellectual dishonesty that “Group Think” inspires among the masses, and brought me to the addictive world of Philosophy, I may never be the same again…lol…BUT this man here, on this video, Wendell Berry, AKA, The Angry Farmer, I think is one of the most honest, sincere thinkers of our time, and his writings are a powerhouse of painful truth and beauty… so I thought Id post this Video of Mr Berry being interviewed on the Bill Moyer show…Dont let this slow speaking Virginian farmer fool you for a second, he is a cutting edged intellect and author on a mission, and he has fire in his pen, but love in his heart for the land, and the people in it…Enjoy….

Black History Month…

In acknowledgment of Black History month I hope to post my own heros that helped mold my hard head into a softer substance that aloud for some enlightenment, joy, and insight in a world that otherwise breeds nothing but discourse…And thats putting it politely…THIS MAN!!! is a profit in my eyes, and this speech not only shows the mans love for his own people, but also, at the same time, the courage he had to step out into the public platform agents the Viet Nam War, at a time no man wanted to step up against this war Machine, let alone a Black man leading a peaceful movement to free a people that were looked on as not much better then animals in those times buy the rest of the country…Martin Luther King had Gods hand all over his walk on this planet…

Pop Culture over substance…

This is a perfect example of Pop Culture over riding substance…I watched this video and tried real hard not to see the subtle, and some not so subtle artistic impositions that are weaved into this performance by Christina A…This girl is a real good singer, and has a good set of pipes, but shes getting the opportunity to sing with one of the finest tenors on the planet. And I just think she butchers the song by imposing some very off the wall inbelishments ( for this piece) that places ego over substance…The Pop culture picks their heros and then goes about promoting them as vocal gods, as in this case, she was refereed to on an award show as “the voice of our generation” Please, the girls a dam good singer, but theirs singers here in Ventura County and towns all over the US that will blow your mind and lite up your soul with their voices…As much as it was a beautiful duet, it was also very disturbing for me to watch…But…thats what makes a horse race…Just sayin I did enjoy it anyway…I think…

Martin Luther King Jr. (Hero)

In my mind we had three American heros that were sprouted here in this rich American soil we hold so dear to us… as we live in this tiny, tiny slice of time in human history where men and woman can express themselves without being hung, shot, or heads cut off for doing so, we have managed to cultivate a few great men in the process. Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, and I truly believe, if left to live, instead off being shot down like a dog for his compassion, and his heart that felt love for his fellow man, Robert Kennedy would have done great things in this country…So in memory of one of my heros, I give you this speech, in memory of Martin Luther King Jr… A true Profit of our time…This speech took great courage to make on so many levels…

Obama won…Im not a democrat, but lets get behind him…

The fights over Obama won, so everyone, lets pull our heads out of our waste disposal units and back the man…Maybe, just maybe, if we tried doing that, just once, the collective positive unity of a nation might cultivate a positive outcome…As for people of Faith, we should be praying for the man, praying for peace, and praying for the leaders that have to deal with keeping the peace…

Time to put away childish things people…1st Cor. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things…Out of context, maybe, applicable definitely…

The man has been re-elected into office, he is now, still, our commander and chief…Let leave the childish things behind us folks, this is all serious bizzness we got goin on here…No room for hate at this junction of the game. Im am far from a democrat, but I live here and I love this place, and if I know one thing, its this, hate breeds discourse, and discourse breeds violence, and violence weather inward or outward just plain sucks, and leads to more of the same! So I dont know about you guys, but Im hoping this guy dose good things with the gifts he has been given…
